Welcome to the optometry office of Dr. Jane Coates & Dr. Kerri Winger.  Our practice has been located at 200 Division Street (corner of Queen and Division) since 1988 and is the longest established optometry practice in Cobourg. We perform complete eye exams which not only assess your vision, but which also assess the health of your entire eye. A thorough and comprehensive eye exam is an important part of your overall health.

Dr. Jane Coates

Dr. Jane Coates, is from Flin Flon, Manitoba, received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 1988.  Upon graduation, she moved to Cobourg. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, Canadian Association of Optometrists, and the College of Optometrists of Ontario. Dr. Coates has provided volunteer vision screening for local kindergarten children since 2000.

Dr. Coates is married and has two daughters. She has volunteered with  Girl Guides of Canada as a leader for the Camborne Brownies, Guides, and Pathfinders. She is currently a member of the Cobourg Dragon Boat Club and the Cobourg Legion Pipes and Drums.

Dr. Kerri Winger

Dr. Kerri Winger joined our practice in January 2010. She completed an Honours Science Degree followed by her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 2009.  During her training, she completed an ocular disease externship at the John Dingle Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. This gave her valuable experience caring for patients with a wide range of ocular diseases including cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal disorders. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, Canadian Association of Optometrists, American Association of Optometrists, and the College of Optometrists of Ontario. Dr Winger has provided volunteer vision screening for local kindergarten children since 2010.

Dr. Winger originates from Stratford, Ontario. She enjoys lob ball and dance classes.
